WARREN PLEECE started drawing comics after studying illustration at Brighton Poly in the late 80s, going on to work with writers such as Garth Ennis, Neil Gaiman, Grant Morrison and Ed Brubaker, producing work for publishers DC, Dark Horse and 2000AD. He drew the acclaimed graphic novels, Life Sucks(First Second) written by Jessica Abel and Gabe Soria, and Incognegro (DC Vertigo) written by Mat Johnson.
For over twenty five years, Warren has written, drawn and collaborated with his brother Gary on the legendary Velocity, a randomly published comic magazine drenched in dark sarcastic humour and heavy-ladened ink, inspired by black and white films, quirky 70s TV scheduling, hard-boiled storytelling, alternative music and unpopular pop culture. Their most recent work includes the books The Great Unwashed (Escape Books), featuring stories from Velocityand other publications, and Montague Terrace (Jonathan Cape), a collection of off-kilter tales of the residents of a neglected modernist block of flats somewhere in London.
Warren also likes to work solo sometimes, and his ongoing webcomic Alby Figgs is one of the fruits of his individual labours. Warren lives in Brighton with his family by the sea.
